Mission Statement

To advocate and promote self-sufficiency through employment, education, and economic empowerment for the Somali community and other immigrants.  And to provide cultural and social support regardless of color, race, ethnicity, religion, economic status and other distinctions.

The Somali Community Association of Ohio (SCAO) is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization that provides assistance to refugees and new immigrants in Columbus, Ohio.  Since its founding in 1996, the SCAO has been a leading voice for Somalians in central Ohio.

Somali refugees and other immigrant communities settling in central Ohio face many challenges relative to housing, employment, education and healthcare SCAO will continue to provide ongoing support in all these areas.
